MCo Group Ltd were instructed to carry out a works to provide new EV charging points as a roll out project to the Middle Temple. Careful planning as the buildings being served were a mix of barristers chambers and also residential. Works included removal of existing entrance steps and lifting Yorkstone paving’s for re-use, careful excavations which exposed various unknown services including gas / electrics / sewer and data services all of which had to be investigated and relocated to provide suitable space for new drainage and wall foundations / ramp bases. New reinforced concrete ramps and steps were formed which were finished with the Yorkstone paving and non slip / DDA compliant contracting step edges and new bespoke rails to the steps. The ramps and steps also had slot drainage built in to be as unobtrusive as possible. A new glazed brick wall with pre cut Portland stone capping’s was constructed including housings and wall mounted EV charging points. Gas lamps were refitted and recommissioned along with the street furniture. There were extensive works required on the data and electrical infrastructure to provide suitable new metered power supplies and data connections to enable the EV points to charge back to registered clients. We are now working on design and manufacture of some bespoke conservation type bollards to house some additional mounted charging points within them that can be located around the parking areas for future use.

We made sure access and egress from the building not restricted throughout the project. Multiple unexpected services were located and had to be modified and altered / recommissioned including gas/electric/data/drainage. The originally specified charging points were found to be unsuitable so we took on the redesign and sought suitable new EV charging equipment.
