A recent project completed over 3 classrooms in a historic Grade I stable-block now working as a nursery. Included forming openings and installation of screens to match those originally installed, full decoration and making good, M&E rationalisations, engineered flooring, heating adaptations and ceiling installations and boxing out all exposed pipe works.

The excavation works needed to be carried out carefully as there are vaults below the slab and the thickness of the existing build up was not certain. We carried out a constant watching brief from the vaults below to avoid any issues. The tree roots also needed to be removed very carefully as they were situated close to the perimeter wall, investigation works were carried out prior to removal to establish the direction of the roots to ensure they were not breaching the wall’s foundation.
